1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Jonathan Malkin ("I," "me," "my") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit builtwithjon.com (the "Site").

The Site is a personal blog and portfolio. I aim to collect as little data as possible.

2. Information I Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

Form information: If you subscribe to my newsletter, contact me, request a review, join a waitlist, or submit a scorecard, I collect the information you provide. This may include your email address, name, company, message details, and selected form responses.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Analytics data: I use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which collects page views, referrers, browser type, and approximate location. Cloudflare Web Analytics is privacy-focused: it does not use cookies, does not track individual visitors across sites, and does not collect personal information. Data is aggregated and not tied to individual users. The Site also records first-party interaction events (such as button clicks and form submissions), used only to understand which pages and actions work. When you arrive through a tagged campaign link, the Site keeps a compact first-touch attribution value in local browser storage for up to 30 days and attaches it to those events and any form you submit.

3. How I Use Information

• Newsletter: To send you articles and updates when new content is published. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
• Forms and requests: To respond to your message, send the requested resource, follow up about a review, or process your waitlist details.
• Analytics: To understand overall traffic patterns and improve the Site. I do not track individual visitors.

4. Third-Party Services

I use the following services to operate the Site:

• Forms and email: Forms are processed by our Cloudflare Worker. Email delivery and subscriber management use Sender. Form submissions are stored first-party in a private Cloudflare KV namespace for up to two years so a third-party outage does not lose your request.

I do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone else.

5. Cookies

The Site does not use cookies. Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless by design. Local browser storage is used only for the 30-day first-touch attribution described above.

6. Data Retention

• Email addresses and form submissions: First-party form records are retained for up to two years while needed to send the requested resource, respond to the request, or keep your newsletter subscription active. Newsletter addresses are removed from the newsletter upon unsubscribe.
• Analytics: Cloudflare retains aggregated analytics data per their retention policies. No individual visitor data is stored by me.

7. Your Rights and Choices

• Unsubscribe: Use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email.
• Access or delete: Contact me to request access to or deletion of your email address.

If you are a California resident (CCPA) or Texas resident (TDPSA), you have additional rights to know, correct, and delete personal information. I do not sell personal data.

8. Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for a general audience. I do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy by posting a revised version and updating the "Last Updated" date.
